Azerbaijan and Russia expand veterinary and phytosanitary control cooperation

At the initiative of the Russian side, Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Food Safety Agency (AFSA), held a telephone conversation with Sergey Dankvert, Head of Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor).

During the call, the parties discussed cooperation between the two countries in veterinary and phytosanitary control.

The talks focused on mutual agricultural exports, streamlining export procedures, and the identification and traceability of large and small livestock exported from Russia to Azerbaijan. They also reviewed the integration of veterinary information systems. The officials noted that the integration process in the phytosanitary field has already been successfully completed.

The sides also explored opportunities for cooperation in the development and production of veterinary medicines. They agreed that an AFSA delegation would visit Russia in the near future to study the country's experience in this area.
