“Developing relations with Georgia is one of the top priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. For centuries, the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples have coexisted in an atmosphere of friendship and good-neighborliness,” Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the 11th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Signagi.
According to Asadov, the strategic partnership between the two countries has recently been elevated to a qualitatively new level.
The Azerbaijani prime minister emphasized the importance of dynamic high-level political dialogue in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
“The state visit to Georgia by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in April, as well as Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to Azerbaijan in May as part of WUF13, were of great importance. These visits once again reaffirmed the strategic nature of bilateral relations and contributed to further strengthening cooperation. The two countries have always supported each other in international organizations, particularly on issues related to territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Asadov added.
