Iran Announces Closure of Strait of Hormuz
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed 'due to the unstable security situation caused by foreign intervention' until further notice.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy stated that foreign intervention and attempts by ships to navigate on 'unauthorized routes' in the Strait of Hormuz have led to security issues. It was emphasized that previous warnings against foreign interventions and unauthorized route determinations by ships were ignored by some vessels, which attempted to proceed on 'unauthorized routes.'

It was reported that one of the ships, which did not change its course despite warnings and endangered maritime security, was stopped by warning shots from the Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy. The statement included, "Due to this incident and the unstable security situation caused by illegal foreign intervention, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice."

The statement declared that no ship would be allowed passage in the Strait of Hormuz until American interventions in the region cease, adding, "Countries that allow the American-Zionist enemy to enter their territories will be held accountable for the consequences of this intervention."
