In a statement from the Qatari Emir's Diwan, it was announced that the father of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (74), passed away in the morning hours. The statement noted that a four-day official mourning period has been declared nationwide due to Al Thani's death. It was stated that the mourning period began today, and from tomorrow, work in ministries, public institutions, and organizations affiliated with the public sector will be suspended, employees will return to their duties on Sunday, July 19, and all flags across Qatar will be flown at half-mast during the mourning period.
