Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi criticized the United Nations (UN) by quoting a post on his social media account that featured statements from Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the UN's website. Bekayi stated, “Accusing Iran of defending itself against attacks is irresponsible and unjust. This is not a military conflict, but a continuation of the military aggression initiated by the US and Israel on February 28.”
Claiming that his country has not launched any attacks anywhere, Bekayi said, “Iran's attacks on US bases on the shores of the Persian Gulf are within the scope of legitimate defense and do not constitute a violation of international law.”
