Yemen Presidential Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi stated that they will not allow their country's airspace to be violated.
Yemen Presidential Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi issued a statement regarding an attempt by an Iranian aircraft to land at Sana'a International Airport, which is under the control of the Houthis. Alimi emphasized that despite friendly and mediating efforts, they did not allow an illegal new flight from Iran to Sana'a Airport, stating, “The landing of an Iranian aircraft at Sana'a Airport is a violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen and an underestimation of state institutions. This attempt also rejects efforts to protect Yemen from further tensions.”
Alimi stated that he has given the necessary instructions to prevent the spread of conflicts in Yemen, saying, “We aim to protect Yemen and its people from wars that Iran is trying to drag them into for its own interests. Yemen will not allow any aircraft to violate its airspace at Sana'a Airport or any other airport. We reject any attempt to impose that violates the country's sovereignty or diminishes its authority over its territories, airspace, and airports.”
