Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, met with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Anna Bordon, head of the IMF mission to the country.
During the meeting, Anar Aliyev highlighted the latest positive outcomes achieved by Azerbaijan following the implementation of consistent social reforms in the country. According to him, as an integral component of these reforms, a sustained upward trend in pensions has been achieved, and significant steps have been taken to improve the pension-insurance system in line with advanced international practices.
The minister stressed that, in recent years, a digital infrastructure for labor, employment, and social protection services has been established, and highlighted the successful implementation of mechanisms covering proactive social payments, including pensions.
The sides also addressed cooperation in developing the pension provision system and exchanging information to update forecasts in this area.
