Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok announced on his social media account that he has signed the constitutional amendment ending his term. In his statement, Sulyok noted that he had no choice but to approve the regulation passed by the parliament.
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar stated that Parliament Speaker Agnes Forsthoffer will temporarily assume the presidency starting Monday. According to the regulation, the parliament is expected to elect a new president within 30 days.
