Work under the sun banned in TRNC due to extreme heat
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has temporarily banned working outdoors and directly under the sun.

Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, the Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), announced today that, in line with the decision made to protect the health and safety of workers, working outdoors and directly under the sun will be prohibited between 12:00 and 16:00 until Saturday, August 1. Hasipoğlu stated that the decision was made based on the temperature forecasts of the TRNC Meteorology Department and technical evaluations within the scope of occupational health and safety, and that the implementation was put into effect under Article 36 of the Labor Law No. 22/1992. Minister Hasipoğlu noted that inspections regarding the implementation of the decision will continue, and called on employers and employees to strictly adhere to the legal regulations.
