Trump: We will hold Iran accountable if Houthis continue attacks
U.S. President Donald Trump stated regarding the incident where Houthis fired at 2 Saudi Arabian ships, “If the Houthis continue their attacks, we will hold Iran accountable.”

U.S. President Donald Trump made statements on his social media account regarding the actions of the Houthis in Yemen targeting commercial ships. Reminding that the U.S. had struck the Houthis very strongly a year ago for obstructing trade and firing at ships, Trump noted that since then, and during the U.S.'s conflict with Iran, the Houthis have acted 'very responsibly.' Trump reported that the Houthis resumed their actions by firing at 2 Saudi Arabian ships last night, expressing great disappointment in the Houthis, whom he previously described as professional and wise.

Trump argued that the Houthis are a proxy of Iran and emphasized that if similar actions are repeated, the Tehran administration will be held directly responsible. In his statement, Trump warned of military operations, saying, “If they do it once more, the U.S. will hold Iran accountable; a great military penalty will be imposed on Iran and, of course, on the Houthis themselves.”
