A mine explosion occurred in the village of Hasanli, located in the liberated Jabrayil district, on July 23.
In a joint statement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) confirmed that Elshan Bahlul oglu Shamilov, born in 1979, was injured when his tractor struck a mine while plowing land in an uncleared area. Shamilov is a resident of Gumlag village in Jabrayil.
The Jabrayil District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
Following the blast, ANAMA and law enforcement authorities reiterated their call for citizens to strictly observe safety protocols: obey mine hazard warning signs, avoid unfamiliar or uncleared terrain, refrain from touching suspicious objects, and stay clear of ongoing demining operations.
