The French media reported that the fires in the southwestern regions of Gironde and Landes have not been brought under control for days. The fire in Gironde has been recorded as one of the largest fires in France, with 32,700 hectares burned since July 22. The number of people evacuated due to the fires has reached 167,000, with approximately 60,000 evacuated the previous night. Authorities also announced that thousands of people were evacuated from the holiday resort of Cap-Ferret in the province, and 31,000 people were evacuated due to the fire in Landes.
