Azerbaijan's newly appointed ambassador to Uzbekistan, Rashad Mammadov, has presented his credentials to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Report informs, citing the Uzbek president's press service.
Mirziyoyev said that thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, relations between the two countries have reached the level of strategic partnership and alliance.
"The volume of mutual trade has increased by 40%, the number of joint ventures has reached nearly 450, and freight transportation volumes have doubled. An ambitious goal has been set to increase the joint investment portfolio between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to $10 billion in the near future," the Uzbek president said.
The sides also noted that upcoming high-level meetings would provide new momentum to bilateral cooperation.
