US and Saudi Arabia launch strikes on Iran-backed groups in Iraq
The US military announced that they conducted airstrikes on targets belonging to Iran-backed groups in Iraq with Saudi Arabia.

In a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on social media, it was reported that Iran-backed groups, directed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to attack US forces and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, were targeted yesterday. The statement noted that US and Saudi fighter jets conducted airstrikes on logistical centers and weapons depots belonging to the groups in various regions in eastern Iraq.

The statement emphasized that the attacks were carried out in response to more than 30 drone strikes reportedly conducted by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in the last 72 hours, and it was stated that the attacks targeting US forces were unsuccessful. The statement warned that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and the groups it supports should cease their attacks, otherwise they could face new military interventions from the US.
