Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that 8 people were killed and dozens injured in large-scale missile and drone attacks carried out by Russia across the country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on his social media account that the Russian army carried out intense attacks on many regions of Ukraine during the night. Sharing details about the attacks, Zelensky reported that a ballistic missile hit a house in Radushne, Dnipro region, killing a mother, father, and three children, while two children were rescued alive from the rubble. He also noted that a residential building in Lviv was hit and search and rescue operations are ongoing, stating that so far, 8 people have died and dozens have been injured in the attacks across the country, offering condolences to their families.
MORE THAN 70 MISSILES, OVER 280 DRONES USED
Highlighting the scale of the attacks, Zelensky noted that, in addition to the capital Kyiv, the regions of Dnipro, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk were targeted. Zelensky stated that many civilian homes, businesses, and infrastructure facilities were destroyed or damaged, and that more than 70 missiles, a significant portion of which were ballistic, and over 280 attack drones were used in the attacks. He reported that Ukrainian forces intercepted more than 260 drones and that fighter jets shot down many cruise missiles.
