The American artist Dolly Parton, known for songs like 'Jolene' and 'I will always love you', has passed away.

 

Dolly Parton, who gained worldwide fame with songs like 'Jolene' and 'I will always love you', has passed away at the age of 80. Parton's death was announced through a message shared by her relatives on social media. In a video message shared on his social media account, Parton's nephew Bryan Seaver said, “We believed that everything was possible with the example she set. She saw no door she couldn't open, and the doors she opened made history, changed history.”

The artist's manager also reported that Parton passed away peacefully at her home in Nashville.

Following Parton's death, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a condolence message. In a statement on his social media account, Trump announced that American flags across the country would be flown at half-staff for a week in her memory. In his post, Trump stated, “I am saddened to report that one of the greatest Country singers and much more, Dolly Parton, has passed away. This is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her and there never will be again. In her memory, I will lower the American flag across the United States to half-staff from 6:00 PM this evening for a week. Rest in peace, Dolly! The world loves you.”
