Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi: We continue to give diplomacy a chance
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country continues its contacts with intermediaries to implement a 7-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and gives diplomacy a chance.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reported that his country continues to stay in contact with intermediaries to ensure the implementation of a 7-day plan aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz. In a post on his social media account, Araghchi noted that they are in close and continuous contact with intermediaries to review ideas that could enable the proposal to be implemented in less than a week. In his post, Araghchi stated, “While our brave Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the homeland, Iran continues to give diplomacy a chance to succeed.”
Iran conveyed its 7-day plan to the United States through intermediaries on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly held in New York on September 22. It was reported that following the proposal's transmission, the administrations of Tehran and Washington continued to exchange messages on the proposal.
