It was reported that the death toll in the flood that occurred in Nepal last week has risen to 1114, while 3,916 people are still missing.
The Nepal National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) announced that the death toll has increased in the flood that occurred in the Rasuwa region on August 26. While search and rescue operations continue in the region, it was noted that the number of those who lost their lives has reached 1114, and 3,916 people are still missing.
The statement reported that bodies were recovered from 8 different areas where floodwaters had swept through. The death tolls were reported as 348 in Chitwan, 217 in East Nawalparasi, 190 in West Nawalparasi, 155 in Nuwakot, 66 in Gorkha, 59 in Dhading, 38 in Tanahun, and 41 in Rasuwa. It was stated that 292 people were injured in the flood, and 11,993 people were rescued through helicopter-supported operations.
It was noted that 3,916 people are missing in the regions where search operations are ongoing, and among the missing are employees of a hydroelectric power plant and foreign nationals. It was reported that 21,314 security personnel are involved in the aid and search operations in the region.
