Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ünal Üstel made a statement regarding the ship accident off the coast of Kyrenia. Üstel stated that the object, believed to be the capsized ship, was detected at a depth of 550 meters, and reported that activities aimed at imaging the area are ongoing. Üstel said that the depth and sea conditions are complicating operations, adding, "Teams are working with great dedication. It is expected that the work will reach a certain stage by the evening hours. During this process, families and the public will be informed again."
