Venezuela Interim President Rodriguez: Election will be held when the country is ready
Venezuela Interim President Delcy Rodriguez said, “An election will be held when the necessary conditions are met in the country.”

Venezuela Interim President Delcy Rodriguez spoke at a press conference held at the Presidential Palace Miraflores in the capital Caracas. Rodriguez noted that she has been working continuously since taking office on January 5, stating that an election will be held in Venezuela when the necessary conditions are met. Rodriguez said, “I have worked tirelessly to ensure that Venezuela is completely ready to go to the polls when the time comes. Rest assured, an election will be held in this country, but this process will take place under conditions where Venezuela is fully prepared. I am conducting intense diplomacy to ensure democratic peace in Venezuela and to completely break the circle of sanctions against the country.”

Stating that she is not the authority to determine the election date, Rodriguez said, “There is a Constitution in force in Venezuela and a democratic order guaranteed by this Constitution.”
