US Secret Service has not updated some security policies for years
It has been reported that the US Secret Service has not updated its security policies for many years.

A report published by the US Government Accountability Office noted that the Secret Service has not changed the protocols aimed at protecting the US President and other officials traveling abroad since 1991.

As part of an investigation conducted in the US Congress, it was reported that the Secret Service did not make the necessary updates and used outdated methods against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for years. The report stated, "Often, the Secret Service has not updated its protection policies following security incidents, and Secret Service policy does not require its personnel to document the reasons for maintaining the status quo in these situations. As a result, the Secret Service does not have complete information when deciding to update protection policies."

According to the report, the Secret Service also did not implement its policy that requires reviewing new procedures within four years of their publication.
