Prime Minister Ünal Üstel of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus congratulated the National Women's Volleyball Team for winning the European Championship by defeating Italy 3-2 in the final.

In his statement, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) noted that the Sultans of the Net have achieved another significant success, saying, "In these painful days we are experiencing, I wholeheartedly congratulate our Turkey National Women's Volleyball Team for bringing great pride and morale to our nation by winning the European Championship.
