Iran: Agreement on Hormuz's new corridor to be signed in the coming days

Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, made statements on current issues during a television program he attended. Rezaei stated that they would make a new decision regarding the Strait of Hormuz and that the agreement on the new corridor, which will be under Iran's control at the entrance and exit of the Strait of Hormuz with Oman, will be signed in the coming days. He said, "We will soon declare a restricted area around the Strait of Hormuz. This area will start from the area where the US has imposed a naval blockade and will cover the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. Any ship entering the newly declared area 'without permission' will be blacklisted by Iran."

Rezaei stated that they could commit to keeping the Strait of Hormuz open if the Americans do not conduct attacks and sabotage, and claimed that the countries mediating between Iran and the US are ineffective in implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries.
