Hungary Asks 10 Russian Diplomats to Leave the Country
Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban announced that 10 personnel from Russia's diplomatic mission have been asked to leave the country due to activities violating the Vienna Convention.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban announced on her social media account that 10 members of the Russian diplomatic mission, identified as engaging in activities incompatible with diplomatic status under the Vienna Convention, have been asked to leave the country. Orban stated that, upon her instruction, a Foreign Ministry official informed the Russian Ambassador in Budapest, noting that the personnel in question violated diplomatic rules according to Hungarian authorities' assessments.
Emphasizing that the decision aims to protect Hungary's security and sovereignty, Orban clarified that this step does not mean diplomatic relations with Russia have been severed, and her country intends to maintain necessary dialogue within the framework of mutual respect and adherence to rules.
