Iranian media reported that Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi had a phone conversation with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi. During the conversation, Arakchi claimed that the situation in the region stemmed from the US not fulfilling its commitments in the Islamabad Agreement, stating, "The solution is simple. The American side returning to its commitments in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding will pave the way for a return to normalcy."
It was noted that Arakchi provided information to his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu regarding discussions with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, and significant progress was made between the two countries in determining a temporary traffic route through the strait.
