Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi, in a post on his social media account, noted that after 47 years of sanctions, the US entered into a war with Iran on behalf of Israel, arguing that the consequences of this process have been disastrous for the US, including its global standing. Arakçi stated, "After failing to achieve its goals through sanctions or war, Washington's 'new' solution... more sanctions. Are you serious?"

The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had announced that it placed 36 entities, including 27 airline companies, on the sanctions list, accusing Iran of transporting weapons, personnel, and illegal cargo.
