Funeral Ceremony Held for Norway's King Harald V in Oslo
King Harald V of Norway, who passed away at the age of 89, was laid to rest in a state ceremony held in the capital, Oslo. The ceremony, which began with a minute of silence observed nationwide, was attended by numerous foreign leaders, including representatives from the royal families of the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, and Japan, as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Following the religious service at the cathedral, King Harald's remains were interred at the royal mausoleum in Akershus Castle.
'HISTORIC OPERATION FOR SECURITY'
Norwegian police announced that the security operation for the funeral was the largest planned operation in the organization's history. After the burial, flags that had been at half-mast for 13 days were raised again, and church bells across the country rang for an hour.
