US President Donald Trump said, “We had a great phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin wants to make a deal.”
Before departing from Washington to Texas, US President Trump answered questions from the press at the airport. In response to a question about his phone call with Russian President Putin, Trump said, “We had a great conversation. He wants to make a deal, and if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also wants to make a deal, that would be great.”
Trump stated that he spoke with both leaders about a peace agreement and expressed his openness to bilateral talks between the leaders.
Trump also commented on the decision regarding Israel by 12 countries, including several European Union (EU) members. When asked whether the US was involved in or opposed to this initiative, Trump replied, “I just saw this, I will discuss it with Israel and find out what they think. I understand what's happening, but I want to know why this suddenly happened.”
