Missile attack from Russia to Ukraine: 2 dead, 34 injured
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that 2 people were killed and 34 injured, including 5 children, in missile attacks by Russia on 12 regions, including the capital Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on his social media account that Russian forces have launched 21 ballistic missiles in three waves at the capital Kyiv since last night. Zelensky noted that residential buildings, energy facilities, railway and metro infrastructure, shopping centers, businesses, and a monastery were damaged in the attacks, and that 12 regions, including the capital Kyiv, were targeted throughout the night. Zelensky stated that 2 people lost their lives and 34 people, including 5 children, were injured in the attacks.
Highlighting that the attack took place immediately after a round of negotiations, Zelensky emphasized that there was no real change in Russia's stance. Zelensky said, “It is important to continue the effort to seek the right solutions to end this war. However, when Russia responds to negotiations with ballistic missiles, real pressure must be exerted on Russia to ensure steps are taken to end the massacres. Stronger air defense systems, rapid delivery of missiles, the capability to destroy ballistic missile launchers, and sanctions against the war; all these must be fully implemented. I am grateful to everyone who sees the situation as it is and accepts the reality. The aggressor should receive the treatment it deserves; Ukraine deserves support, and people's lives deserve protection,” he said.
