Trump: If Democrats win, our country could disappear

US President Donald Trump made a statement about the midterm elections on a podcast program prepared by journalist Miranda Devine. Claiming that the country would be driven to an irreparable destruction if the Democratic Party wins the elections, Trump said, “If the Democrats win the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the presidency in 2028, our country could completely disappear. I believe the election polls do not reflect reality and I think the polls are rigged.”

Trump stated that if the majority in Congress shifts to the Democrats, he would use his Presidential powers to the fullest and block the legislative process, saying, “I believe we will win, but if we don't, I will veto everything. I would probably become 'Mr. Veto'. Then at some point, we would start making deals.”

Noting that he is in the last period of his political career, Trump expressed that he would want to run again if there were no two-term limit in the US Constitution. Emphasizing that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are strong options to succeed him after he leaves office, Trump stated, “Someone who will govern the country wonderfully after me needs to come.”
