Train trip for disabled dogs
Buket Özgünlü (36), who takes care of disabled dogs in the nursing home she established in Ankara's Gölbaşı district, built a train out of empty barrels for animals with walking difficulties. Özgünlü takes disabled animals on the train every day

Buket Özgünlü founded the Paws for Life Association 11 years ago after she started feeding stray animals. Özgünlü, who is the president of the association, was affected by her father's stroke due to a blood clot in his brain and founded the Yaşapati Dog Nursing Home for disabled animals in Oyaca village in Gölbaşı district. Özgünlü cares for disabled dogs brought from Ankara and different provinces. Supported by animal lovers, Özgünlü has now built a train out of empty barrels for disabled dogs. Özgünlü takes the animals, which have difficulty walking due to various disabilities, on a 6-car train pulled by an ATV motorcycle every day and takes them for a ride. Citizens in the neighborhood also show interest in the train with a dog in each wagon.
