Chinese experts conduct master classes for Baku Engineering University students

Members of the delegation from Fudan University of the People's Republic of China visiting Baku Engineering University (BEU), artificial intelligence expert Ye Suli and biomedical expert He Nan, have conducted master classes for students.

During the training session organized for students studying under the SABAH program majors at BEU's Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies, Ye Suli presented the latest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence. The training emphasized that artificial intelligence is currently one of the main technological directions rapidly developing worldwide and shaping the future labor market, and that the development of knowledge and skills in this field makes a significant contribution to the formation of students' innovative thinking, as well as to increasing their competitiveness in the international labor market.

He Nan, meanwhile, discussed innovative approaches applied for early-stage detection of cancer, diagnostic methods using glycan biomarkers, with students studying chemistry and biotechnology majors. It was emphasized that this method, currently one of the priority directions in medicine and biotechnology, is based solely on minimally invasive technologies and allows cancer diagnosis to be carried out using a small blood sample taken from the patient's fingertip. When such an approach is used in clinical practice, it provides convenience and early detection for patients, while simultaneously yielding results at approximately 90 percent accuracy in terms of diagnostic precision.

The Chinese experts' training sessions were received with interest by the students.

It should be noted that BEU and China's Fudan University, as well as this university's research institutes, have signed a memorandum on cooperation. The expansion of joint activities in the fields of science, education, research, and personnel training is envisioned between the parties. The master classes held were also organized within the framework of this cooperation, and the continuation of similar training sessions is planned for the future.
