Kazakhstan and Hungary are ready to enhance their cooperation in energy and banking sectors, Trend reports.
This was declared during the reception of the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs, Péter Szijjártó, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
Greeting the Hungarian diplomat, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the high level of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Hungary. He underlined the progressive development of political dialogue at the highest level, as well as active intergovernmental cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the dynamic implementation of agreements signed during his state visit to Budapest last year. According to him, their consistent realization will contribute to further deepening the comprehensive partnership. The President also conveyed greetings and best wishes to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
In turn, Péter Szijjártó also conveyed warm greetings from the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbánto the President.
The Minister informed Tokayev that his visit to Astana aims to have focused discussions with relevant ministries and agencies on various aspects of the practical implementation of previously achieved high-level agreements.
During the meeting, the parties discussed several pressing bilateral issues, with special attention given to expanding mutually beneficial ties in trade, economic, and investment spheres, as well as in energy and banking sectors. Additionally, there was an exchange of views on relevant international issues.
After the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded Péter Szijjártó with the Order “Dostyk” II degree for his contribution to the development of Kazakh-Hungarian relations.
Nowadays, the portfolio of Kazakh-Hungarian investment projects includes 18 projects worth about $900 million in such sectors as energy, agriculture, logistics, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and information technology.
