Trade exchanges between Albania and Turkey, over 82 billion lekë during 11-month period

Turkey ranks Albania’s second trading partner, accounting for 7.3% of the volume, the Albanian News Agency (ATA) reported.

According to the Institute of Statistics report on foreign trade for the period January-November, trade exchanges with Turkey increased in the 11 months of the current year, reaching 82.3 billion lekë.

Albanian exports to Turkey are estimated at 4.8 billion lekë, up from 4.7 billion lekë in the 11-month period of 2024, while imports for the 11-month period are estimated at 77.5 billion lekë.

The Turkish imports consist of 25.4 billion lekë construction materials and metals, as well as 9.3 billion lekë of textiles and footwear. Meanwhile, the import of chemical and plastic products is estimated at 10.7 billion lekë.

While Albania’s exports consist of minerals and metals, aromatic and medicinal plants and fashion products.

Albania has a free trade agreement with Turkey thanks to which the two countries are creating opportunities to increase trade exchanges between them.

Albanian exporters can benefit from the free trade agreement between Albania and Turkey, which gives them the opportunity to export a number of Albanian products to the regional market without customs duties or with tariff quotas.

Exports of industrial products of Albanian origin are liberalized. Meanwhile, for agricultural products, the parties have mutually granted each other preferential tariffs and tariff quotas.
