Pezeşkiyan: Our $6 billion frozen assets in Qatar will be returned
Iranian President Mesud Pezeşkiyan announced that the $6 billion frozen fund in Qatar will be released and returned to the country as part of the peace memorandum signed with the USA.

According to reports in the Iranian press, President Mesud Pezeşkiyan, during a meeting with a high-ranking cleric in the city of Qom, evaluated the gains from the memorandum of understanding signed with the USA. Pezeşkiyan announced that the $6 billion frozen assets held in Qatar would be released in accordance with the agreement. Pezeşkiyan stated that the total frozen assets in Qatar amount to $12 billion and emphasized that necessary follow-ups are being conducted for the return of the remaining funds.

Describing the memorandum of understanding reached with the USA as a 'great victory' for the Iranian people, Pezeşkiyan noted that sanctions on Iran's petrochemical and oil exports have been lifted under the agreement. Pezeşkiyan also stated that despite Israel and some groups still opposing the implementation of the agreement, the USA eventually forced Israel to accept the peace memorandum.

Reiterating Iran's stance on its nuclear activities, Pezeşkiyan added that they are not in pursuit of developing nuclear weapons and that nuclear activities will only continue in line with the country's needs and declared policies.
