According to an order signed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on February 23, 2026, the authority to sign the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan was entrusted to Tofig Musayev, Azerbaijan`s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN).
Under the order, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to send a corresponding notification to the United Nations Secretary-General. The order entered into force on the day of its signing.
On April 23, in accordance with the presidential order, Tofig Musayev visited the UN Office of Legal Affairs.
“On behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tofig Musayev visited the UN Office of Legal Affairs to sign the Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, adopted in New York on December 20, 2018,” Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the UN said on X.
Thus, the convention was signed on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
