As part of his visit to Vietnam, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora, met with members of the Azerbaijani community in Hanoi, the Vietnamese capital.
Prior to the meeting, Fuad Muradov visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Hanoi, paying tribute and laying flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev there.
Addressing the event, Shovgi Mehdizada, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, highlighted the existing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, stressing National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s crucial role in establishing and developing relations between the two countries and their peoples.
In his remarks, Fuad Muradov noted that Azerbaijani compatriots residing in different countries have always been provided with care and support by President Ilham Aliyev. He also underscored the efforts of First Vice-President and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, in conveying Azerbaijani realities to the international community, preserving the country’s national and spiritual values, and raising awareness among Azerbaijani compatriots living abroad.
Other speakers included Nghiem Vu Khai, Honorary Chairman of the Vietnam–Azerbaijan Friendship Association, who expressed his affection for Azerbaijan.
Subsequently, Azerbaijani compatriots were briefed on the activities of the Committee and put forward proposals on enhancing relations in education, culture, and cuisine, as well as on holding a teachers’ forum there.
The event concluded with an artistic program.
