Farid Murtuzov, Head of the Marine Environment Protection Department, attended the 84th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) held at IMO headquarters in London.
The session brought together representatives of the member states, relevant UN programs, specialized agencies and organizations, as well as observers from intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations.
The session included dicsussions on the prevention of air pollution, improvement of the energy efficieny of ships, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, fighting plastic pollution, and reduction of underwater radited noise from ships, working group reports, and work plans, with relevant decisions adopted.
