2nd Solidarity Forum of NGOs from OTS member countries features panel sessions

The Second Forum of Solidarity of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries continued on Saturday with panel sessions on various topics.

The Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan NGO Forum, organized as part of the Forum, featured a panel session on the theme "Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan NGO Dialogue: Urbanization and Sustainable Urban Development." The panel was moderated by Chairman of the "Common Values" Public Union Agil Jamal.

Speakers at the session included Tolobek Beishenbekov, director of the "Insap Elim" Public Foundation, Bekmamat Arstanbekov, Chairman of the Council for Youth Affairs under the Manas City Executive Power, Bakytbek Sagynalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Association of Social Entrepreneurs" Public Union, and Afsaladdin Aghalarov, chairman of the "Support to the Socio-Economic Development of Youth" Public Union.

Afsaladdin Aghalarov said that Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are two friendly and brotherly countries that have played a vital role in developing the Middle Corridor project.

“Today, the Middle Corridor is one of the safest logistics routes in the world. President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly emphasized that this corridor is not only for the Turkic world, but also serves as a major economic and transport route between China and Europe. Products from China are delivered to Europe via the Middle Corridor in a short timeframe, making this route one of the primary guarantors of logistical security,” he added.

Other speakers highlighted global urbanization processes, sustainable urban development, as well as ways to address modern challenges.

The Northern Cyprus-Azerbaijan forum, moderated by Ilham Ismayilov, Chairman of the “Center for Cooperation of Azerbaijanis and Other Turkic-Speaking Peoples” Public Union, heard reports by Chairman of the “Victory: Support for Martyrs’ Families” Public Association Sevinj Alizada, President of the Northern Cyprus Promotion Platform Okyay Sadıkoğlu, member of the Turkish Cypriot Women Entrepreneurs’ Organization Gulnur Sadıkoğlu, and Chairman of the Martyrs and Veterans’ Organization Buba Barış.

Speakers underscored that the 21st century is the era of Turkic world, noting that solidarity and cooperation across the Turkic continue to grow stronger.

The Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Forum was moderated by Chairman of the “Baku Political Scientists Club” Public Association Zaur Mammadov, featuring reports by Director of the CAREC Project Office in Turkmenistan Mergen Kepbanov, Chairman of the “Tebigy Kuwwat” Public Association Berkali Atayev, and Chairman of the “Taze Zaman” Public Association Mubarak Gurbanova.

During the forum, participants exchanged views on the prospects for future cooperation among the OTS member states.
