According to a statement by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, a fire broke out in an electricity generator located outside the inner security perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Plant in the Al Dhafra region. The statement noted that the fire was caused by a drone attack, and it was announced that no one was injured in the incident and there was no adverse impact on the facility's radiological safety levels.
The statement emphasized that all precautionary measures were taken, and it was reported that the UAE Federal Nuclear Regulation Authority (FANR) also confirmed that the fire did not affect the safety or the operation of the plant's essential systems. It was noted that all units of the facility continued to operate normally following the incident.
