Special Representative of President: Demining operations in the city of Khankendi as well as Aghdara and Khojaly districts were one of the most difficult processes
“Mine clearance and unexploded ordnance clearance activities in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts were one of the most difficult processes,” said Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, in his remarks at the event on the Post-conflict Urban Development: Restoring a Destroyed Identity and Rebuilding an Integrated Future, organized at the Azerbaijan pavilion as part of the WUF13.
Yusubov specified that a total of 1,456 hectares in Khankendi, 10,359 hectares in Aghdara, and 9,874 hectares in Khojaly have successfully been cleared of mines and unexploded military ordnance.
