Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, met with Princess Lamia Bint Majid Al Saud, Secretary General at Alwaleed Philanthropies, Goodwill Ambassador for UN-Habitat, as part of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
During the meeting, Bahar Muradova emphasized the importance of international platforms such as WUF to enhance exchange of ideas and experiences among states, as well as to develop projects for mutual cooperation. The Chair of the Committee noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia were developing dynamically.
Bahar Muradova also provided the guest with detailed information about the promotion of women's entrepreneurship, as well as government programs to support women from families of martyrs in social, educational and scientific areas.
Lamia Bint Majid Al Saud highlighted the efforts of the foundation. She noted that large-scale reforms are being implemented within the framework of the "Saudi Vision 2030" program. In particular, important steps have been taken to protect women's rights, increase their empowerment and ensure their active participation across various spheres of society. Various projects are also being implemented to develop women's digital skills, provide them with psychological and medical support, and strengthen their economic opportunities.
The parties also emphasized the importance of cooperation in strengthening women`s role in society and improving social welfare.
