Iranian Leader Khamenei: We Are Witnessing a Unique Resistance Epic Against Two Global Terrorist Armies

Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a written statement on the second anniversary of the death of former President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19, 2024. Starting his message by commemorating Raisi, then-Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials, Khamenei stated that these individuals "adorned the sincere and diligent service record of the Islamic Republic officials with their own blood."

Emphasizing Raisi's sense of duty, commitment to justice, active diplomacy, and close connection with the public, Khamenei noted that these qualities encouraged Iran's allies, especially the 'Resistance Front.' Khamenei said, "The unfinished presidential term of that martyr has set a standard of effort and compassion for the nation and country while preserving the country's independence."

Addressing Iran's current strategic stance in his message, Khamenei, without naming them, targeted the US and Israel, saying, "We are currently witnessing a unique historical resistance epic put forth by the Iranian nation against two global terrorist armies. This situation further burdens the responsibility of the Islamic Republic officials, from the leader and the heads of the three branches to managers at every level, more than ever before. Today, it is necessary to be grateful for this harmony between the nation, state, and institutions; to increase the determination of officials to serve, to solve the economic problems of the people by being directly on the ground, and to give the people a more active role for the bright future of the country."
