Italy demands apology from Israel over mistreatment of Global Sumud Flotilla activists
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that they are demanding an apology from Israel for the mistreatment of Global Sumud Flotilla activists.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated on her social media account, “The images of Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir are unacceptable. The treatment of these activists, including many Italian citizens, in a manner that disregards human dignity is intolerable. We have taken all necessary steps through institutional channels to ensure the immediate release of the Italian citizens in question.”
Meloni also noted that Italy is demanding an apology due to the treatment of the activists and the disrespect shown towards the clear demands of the Italian government, adding, "For these reasons, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will immediately summon the Israeli Ambassador to request an explanation regarding the incident."
