French President Emmanuel Macron and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a phone conversation. The leaders discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made statements on their social media accounts regarding the phone conversation they held. Aliyev stated that the phone conversation took place at Macron's initiative, saying, “During the conversation, we reviewed the topics on the agenda of Azerbaijan-France bilateral relations and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. We also discussed regional and global developments.”

Macron, on the other hand, highlighted the regional peace process in his post about the conversation. Macron said, “I reminded of France's support for the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the importance of this process continuing to progress. We also evaluated regional issues and the potential to enhance our bilateral relations.”
