“Azerbaijan’s hosting of WUF13 is a significant reflection of the country’s contribution to urban planning, sustainable development, and the global urban agenda,” Dalya Altuntepe, a heritage strategist and cultural tourism expert from Germany, told AZERTAC on the sidelines of WUF13.
She noted that restoring historical and cultural monuments destroyed during the occupation period in the liberated territories is a source of pride. “In Shusha, seeing the monuments and the restoration work firsthand was very moving for me. Through its projects, Azerbaijan is a notable model for post-conflict recovery and development,” she added.
