“The greatest challenge and unique characteristic regarding Shusha is that all of our projects must comply with the standards and requirements for preserving national heritage,” said Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, during an event titled “Building Back Better How Urban Reconstruction Created an Innovation Lab for Urban Transformation in Azerbaijan” held within the framework of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
He noted that this standard also includes the architectural style: “If you visit our residential complex in Shusha, you can see that unique local natural stones have been used on the facades of the buildings, resulting in a very fascinating appearance.”
