“There are significant differences in socio-economic conditions between the poorest and richest countries in the world. Therefore, it is difficult to claim the existence of universal trends equally applicable to every geography. However, I believe that a shared priority for everyone on a global scale will be to place greater emphasis on local communities and the development of their internal potential,” Ismail Serageldin, co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, told AZERTAC on the sidelines of WUF13.
Ismail Serageldin noted that the rights and powers of local communities must be strengthened so that they can take ownership of their neighborhoods and realize their internal potential.
