WUF13 explores Brazil's experience in combating housing crisis

“Although Brazil's population exceeds 210 million, urban areas cover less than 1 percent of the country's territory. However, 87.4 percent of the population lives in cities. There are 80 megacities areas in the country, but only 22 of them have true metropolitan dynamics,” said Cristiana Scorza, Director of Urban and Metropolitan Development Structuring at Brazil`s Ministry of Cities, at a panel session on "Metropolitan Governance for Affordable Housing and Inclusive Territorial Development" organized within the framework of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
