“As a result of the discussions held within the framework of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), an important document — the Baku Call to Action — is expected to be adopted at the closing session,” said Erfan Ali, UN-Habitat Director of the Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, in an exclusive statement to AZERTAC during WUF13.
He noted that the call will aim to provide global support to governments, local authorities, and cities in addressing challenges such as climate change, forced displacement, informal settlements, and inequality.
“In this regard, WUF13 is a significant global initiative currently being hosted in Azerbaijan, and we eagerly await its outcomes and final decisions,” Erfan Ali added.
